Experience Dance for Parkinson 

Dance and Movement to Enhance Health Outcomes
with
Leymis Bolanos Wilmott

An evening of dance with Sarasota Contemporary Dance followed by discussion. We will learn about the process and importance of incorporating movement for the wellness of those coping with their symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, as well as for their loved ones.

Evening Program:

  • Guest Speakers:  Marilyn Tait, Executive Director of Parkinson Place and Leymis Bolanos Wilmott, Artistic Director of Sarasota Contemporary Dance
  • Interactive Demonstration of the Dance for Parkinson program done at Parkinson Place
  • Hear from participants who participate weekly in Wilmott’s Dance for Parkinson class 
Leymis Bolanos Wilmott, MFA, Founder and Artistic Director of Sarasota Contemporary Dance and creator of Parkinson Place Dance Program, will share how SCD enhances health outcomes, builds community, encourages creativity and cultivates joy be sharing the art of dance for people living with Parkinson disease.  Ms. Wilmott was selected by Sarasota’s Parkinson Place to be trained in the internationally recognized Dance for PD ® Program through the Mark Morris Dance Group and Brooklyn Parkinson Group (DanceforParkinsons.org).
