    About Stephanie Heidemann

Stephanie Heidemann is a World-Fusion Vocalist/Performer & Arranger of music. With a B.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy from Indiana University, Heidemann explores dynamic singing improvisation and creativity-opening exercises with her students, and as a performer. Stephanie has studied expressive movement with Certified Movement Analyst/dancer Fanchon Shur and was mentored in classical voice technique by the notable NY-Metropolitan Opera Mezzo, Brenda Boozer.  Stephanie's performance experience began with world a cappella quartet, VIDA, who quickly went from busking on streets to performing at University auditoriums and world music festivals, to landing on the cover of Billboard Magazine and Dirty Linen.  They were signed by IMG-Artists in NY, and quickly scaled re-known stages across the U.S. She has released 4 CDs. Her solo debut CD, The Cantiga Project  was highlighted on NPR's All Song's Considered, and included in the Sounds True CD compilation, “Songs of Mary”.  She has sung on over 8 short film soundtracks, many cd projects, and occasionally tours with other world music groups (HuDost). Residing in Sarasota, FL, she founded the expressive arts modality, Authentic Voicework. As a pioneer, she introduces this unique combination of vocal technique, creative singing exercises, movement, and improvisation to students through private sessions and communal workshops.  Her modality has been approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) in granting continuing education credits. Stephanie has taught workshops around the U.S. and as extensively as Lima, Peru where she presented her modality at the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association Conference in 2011.  She is a published author on empowerment through singing (Massage Today, Spring 2012). Heidemann is an artist-in-residence at Hermitage Artist Retreat, and the artistic director and lead singer for The Resonance Project, who recently appeared on TEDxSarasota.
